Striking antique bulls eye lens made in the late 19th century or early 20th century (circa 1900) and in really good condition. This delicate and elegant piece is designed to capture light and focus in on the sample plate of a microscope without electric light system. The lens is made of brass; the metal is wonderfully preserved and shows no signs of rust or wear. The golden surface looks shiny and even, while the original magnifying glass is also in excellent condition. The lens mounts an ample circular foot with a vertical stem that connects with the bulls eye lens. This connection is mobile and enables the user to move the glass up or down in order to capture light. The lenss stem is telescopic and can be freely extended or shortened. As well preserved as attractive, this antique bulls eye lens will shine in a good collection of turn-of-the-century microscope. Measurement: Bases Width: 2-9 in / 7.5 cm.
