Superb English microscope by M. Pillischer in great condition and perfect working order. This is a scientific-surveying device made in England in the late 19th century (circa 1880), delivered with its original solid-mahogany wooden case and a complete accessory set. The microscope stands out for its imposing presence: it is entirely made of brass and the metal looks shiny and even, with the original antique transparent lacquer. The polished surface shows no signs or rust, bumps or wear; it is just enhanced by the lovely patina created by the trace of time and use.At the microscopes foot we can see the manufacturers name engraved in the metal with a fine cursive lettering, together with the inscription Nº 703. The devices rack in good condition and it also mounts a mechanical stick-type stage (in perfect working order) and double-sided mirror (concave/flat). The microscope is accompanied by two original lenses in their brass sleeves (signed by M. Pillischer), two eyepieces, forceps for the samples and a live box (a capsule to observe live specimens). As for the storing case, it is a stately solid-mahogany box with recessed door and embedded top brass handle. The lock is in working order and preserves the original key.For its intrinsic beauty and fine condition, this antique M.
