Superb antique mechanical sample stage for microscope signed by Watson & Sons, coming from England and dated circa 1900. This is a fully original piece, more than one hundred years old and preserving all its component parts and pieces. They all move in a fluid and soft way, making it possible to mount the stage on a microscope in order to move the samples without touching them. The stage is made of brass and bears the manufacturers name, W. WATSON & SONS Ltd, engraved in the metal. Some of its component parts are made of black-enameled cast iron; the black finish is also beautifully preserved. The clips to attach the stage to the microscope are made of silvery metal and remain in good condition, fulfilling their role perfectly. This antique mechanical stage for microscopes signed by Watson & Sons is the perfect accessory for a turn-of-the-century professional microscope.History of W. Watson & Sons W.
