Small Antique Drum Microscope. Circa 1860

Small antique drum microscope made circa 1860 and in good working order. This delicate item is more than one hundred and fifty years old but can still be used to watch samples and specimens. These microscopes were used as portable instruments for fieldwork; hence their small size. The one that we can see in the images mounts a brass cylindrical casing, in very good condition and preserving the ancient transparent lacquered finish that protects and enhances the metal. The top eyepiece and the double-sided mirror located at the bottom of the microscope are both original and remain in fine condition; the same can be said about the objective. Every lover of old-time scientific surveying instruments will find a real treasure in this small antique drum microscope, as piece as delicate as functional. Measurements: Width: 4.6 cm.
