Small Jones-type botanical pocket microscope, made in England circa 184 and in its original box. This fascinating instrument is a very antique piece and has survived to our days in relatively good condition, though the piece which once fitted into the rail is currently missing. The microscope was designed for field work and shows a very simple design. It is composed of three brass parts connected by an axe, each one with an element: the lens, the rail and the handle. The storing box still fulfills its protecting duty, though the leatherette outside covering is somewhat worn (specially at the corners). This detail only confirms the microscopes authenticity, showing that this instrument which was commonly used by its owner.
