Amazing R&J Beck microscope made in England circa 1890, in superb condition and with its original storing case. This wonderful device is almost like new though being more than 130 years old. It mounts a two-lens revolving nosepiece and four original lenses by the maker, all of them greatly preserved. The microscopes design stands out for its simple and modern look, with three-leg black iron foot and brass component parts with their original transparent finish. The rack-and-pinion system is very well preserved and moves fluidly. At the back of the foot we can see the engraved manufacturers name and the original distributor too, BRADY & MARTIN NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE; the companys headquarters is currently a museum of scientific instruments. Under this inscription we can also see the microscopes serial number, 22446. The storing case is also in striking condition and keeps the original lock and key in working order. This amazing R&J Beck microscope is a real collectors piece for its impressive condition and attractive design. Dimensions: Width: 7 in / 18 cm. Height: 15 in / 38 cm.
