Antique Student Microscope with Storing Case. Circa 1910
Antique student microscope with storing case, made circa 1910 and in fine condition and working order. This fine instrument comes in its original box, made of solid mahogany wood and with lovely and strong dovetail joints at the corners. The microscope is accompanied by two objectives and two eyepieces, perfectly disposed in their own compartment inside the case; it also includes a pair of ancient tweezers to manipulate the samples. It is made of brass and mounts a black-enameled metal horseshoe foot. The brass preserves the original protecting lacquer which provides it with a lovely and warm patina. The rack-and-pinion system is in very good condition and slides well, enabling the user to focus samples accurately. The storing case preserves the gorgeous reddish color typical of mahogany wood and shows no cracks or broken parts.
This antique student microscope with storing case is a great article, more than one hundred years old and as authentic as attractive.
