Interesting English compilation of microscope glass slides, dating from the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th. This collection is in very good condition and is composed of one hundred and forty five slides with samples of different products and origins, all of them intact and with hand-written labels. The labels bear the name of the sample and, in some cases, another data such as the number, the date and the Latin name. This curious collection contains all kind of samples: from chicken feathers to samples from different parts of the human body, and also fish scales, parts of bones or plants. The slides come on cardboard trays. There are fifteen trays and nine slides on each tray. All of them are housed into a cardboard box, which it is not the original container but was made by hand to keep the collection safe. The samples once belonged to an English scientific, who collected all this material for his investigations until he formed this magnificent compilation. The samples make up a really interesting and curious article, because of the wide array of products they cover (vegetal, animal and human), their ancient age and scientific interest. Into the cover of the box there is a label with this inscription: MILLIKIN & LAWLEY 165, STRAND LONDON. Although the box is not as old as the samples and neither are the trays, they boast all the charm of artisanal objects. The set is the perfect container to house the samples in an organized way and with all the authenticity they deserve. This compilation will delight any medical practitioner or pharmacist, but also any lover of curious or scientific antiques. Box measurements: 265 mm width x 110 mm height.
