This wonderful music box is an antique piece, very remarkable because of its excellent working order and its rather big size. It was made in Switzerland in the 19th century and is quite an attractive item for its decorative power and astonishing sound. The box that stores the mechanism is made of lacquered wood, with the lid covered by a walnut wooden sheet and molded edges. The combination of techniques and finishes that decorate the box is quite interesting, making up a singularly beautiful and original piece. The inner mechanism boasts a surprisingly good condition. The metal comb is complete and keeps all its teeth, so in the six tunes that can be played with this box there is not a single note missing. The comb, the cylinder and the rest of the mechanism are stored in a smaller box, covered by a wooden and glass lid attached to the box with hinges. The lid protects the mechanism while letting the user watch it while works. The box itself is made of solid wood with a lacquered finish. Outside it is decorated with a faux-wood finish, skillfully performed. The lid, on the other hand, is covered by a walnut sheet with a lovely marquetry bouquet in the center. Part of this detail is missing but the box still preserves its charm and beautiful look, increased by the great sound of the tunes it can play. Perfect to decorate the living room of a music lovers home, this antique music box is a piece with an undeniable special charm. Measurements: Width: 19.2 in/49 cm. Height: 4.7 in/12 cm.
