Totally Restored 19th Century Organ. Perfect Functioning Sound

Charming barrel-organ made in the 19th century, in perfect working order. The organ has an excellent sound and preserves all its pieces. The box is made of black-lacquered wood, with gold-painted decoration and lettering, and the mechanism is made of silvery metal and brass. The hinges are also made of brass and the lever is made of metal and wood, both black-lacquered. The barrel-organ comes with two rollers which play different tunes. The painted motives are typical of the second half of the 19th century and make an abstract decoration, as sober as elegant. The organ is thoroughly restored and the black surface is shiny and polished. There is a label s attached to the lower part of the box, inside one of its walls, where we can read the following inscription: Restored by Harold Drapers St. Peters Mo. 314-2232779. Then comes the date of restoration, handwritten: MAY 2011. In the same place we find an old printed document with the instructions to operate the organ, written in English. All of them are details which enhance the authenticity and quality of this item, as antique as attractive. In the upper front part we can read a big inscription in golden capital letters, which says: HOME MUSIC BOX. Thanks to the elegant hinges, the front part can be lifted and deployed to let us see the mechanism in which the rollers must be inserted. The rear of the box is covered by a thin black fabric, so as the music can be neatly listened to. To operate the music box, the instructions tell us to turn the handle (after putting a roller in) until the tune is played, and afterwards wait until the handle turns three times and the tune is over. It is undoubtedly a charming article, which offers a clear and neat sound. A real find for any lover of antiques in general and particularly for those ones specialized in antique musical pieces.
