Lovely musical casket made of mahogany wood in America. This antique musical article was manufactured circa 1880, and is in perfect condition and working order. It comes with 2 original music rolls. It has been fully restored and checked, and thanks to that it boast a warm and shiny polished finish which increases its attractive. This item works perfectly and sounds very well. It comes with 2 music rolls which can be put inside to play the tune, just turning the crank on the right. The musical casket is model Nº 2, which is stated at the front, in an inscription performed in fine golden capital letters. The inscription says MUSICAL CASKET Nº 2, and matches the delicate ornaments painted in other parts of the wooden chest. The ornaments are decorative golden abstract fringes, performed in an elegant and nice art Noveau style. The paints golden tone is finely highlighted by the deep reddish color of the mahogany wood. If we turn the casket upside down we will find a paper label with the following printed inscription: Restored by Harold Drapers St. Peters Mo 314-223-2779, and a date: Jan 2012. This indicates the date when the item was last restored, and also the name, address and phone number of the restorer. The musical casket provides an excellent sound, and is both a functional and a decorative article. The beautiful wood it is made of, its great condition and its wonderful sound turn this musical casket into the perfect piece for the collection of any lover of music-related antiques.
