Gorgeous vintage golden brass telescope in excellent condition. This article was manufactured in the 1940s-50s, and in spite of being around 60 years old is wonderfully preserved. The telescope keeps all its original component parts; the tripod is especially remarkable, and can be folded and unfolded to use the telescope on a table or as a floor standing item. The lenses are also original and are in good condition, just like the eyepiece. The article comes with the original brass dustcap. The lenses provide a neat and clear view of far-away objects, so this beautiful telescope is not only a decorative piece but also a fully functional instrument. Telescopes have been with men for more than four centuries; the first models are dated in 1608. Many scientists claimed to have invented it. Nevertheless, its development is due mainly to two geniuses: Kepler and Galileo. The tripod on which the instrument stands has a telescopic pole so it can be put on a table (when folded) or directly on the ground (fully unfolded). In order to connect the telescope to the pole and move it up and down, the tripod mounts a mobile part with a screw that acts as a hinge. The three legs that support the whole are safe and reliable, and can be connected to the pole by a screw. The amazing telescope is perfect to decorate a special corner and to enjoy watching the night sky. Measurements: Telescope (length): 27.3 in / 69.5 cm. Tripod: Unfolded: 54.4 in / 138 cm. Folded: 23.4 in / 59.5 cm.
