Authentic four-pipe spyglass made in the late 19th century, in good condition and preserving all its original component parts. This instrument is a real collectors piece, manufactured in Munich and with a very singular charm. It is composed by four telescopic bodies (pipes), the biggest one storing the others when folded. This main body is a wooden cylinder with brass ends: the wood is protected by a dark brown finish whose surface shows signs of the trace of time and use, providing the instrument with personality. The lens and the eyepiece are well preserved; the spyglass also keeps the original front cap that protects the objective. The narrowest pipe (the one with the eyepiece) bears an inscription engraved in elegant cursive lettering: Waldstein in München (Waldstein in Munich). Because of its ancient age and classic design, this spyglass deserves to be shown off in a distinct place, in a classy room or study. Measurements: Unfolded: Length: 16.7 in / 42.5 cm. Folded: Length: 6 in / 15.4 cm. Width: 1.3 in / 3.5 cm.
