This wonderful sky telescope is a piece more than one hundred years old. Made circa 1880, it has survived to our days in amazing condition. The telescope works fine and provides neat images of the sky and of faraway objects and landscapes. Its great look is powerfully remarkable stately and stylish, the telescope and tripod set is really beautiful. The device comes in its original storing case, made of solid wood and in good condition too. The first telescopes were made between the 16th and 17th centuries. Though it is traditionally though that the telescope was invented by Hans Lipperhey, before him other inventors such as Gianbattista Porta and Zacharias Janson had already created similar designs. Nevertheless, the one who really improved the original design and adapted it for stargazing was the famous scientist and astronomer Galileo Galilei. The lovely telescope that we can see in the images is fully made of golden brass. The metal is in good condition and preserves the original transparent finish. The metalwork and the screws are made of the same metal, and so is the cylindrical pillar it stands on. On the other hand, the tripod is a very beautiful element the top part is softly shaped and the fine oak wood it is made of preserves the original shiny finish. The tripod comes with a leather strap designed to keep the legs together when not in use. For its decorative power and its ancient age, this gorgeous sky telescope is worthy of the best collection.
