Awesome antique binoculars made of brass and with black-lacquered painted areas, in very good condition and great working order. The binoculars come from England and were made in 1890. They are signed by J. H. Steward we can see the makers name clearly engraved in one of the eyepieces. As well as the name we can also see two addresses, one in each eyepiece: 66 Strand, London 406 Strand, 54 Cornhill. The binoculars preserve all their original component parts and pieces, including the lenses, in great condition. They work really fine and make it possible to watch objects located at a certain distance. The central bodies bear no lacquered finish at all and so do the objectives; they are made of lean brass, shiny and golden. The rest of the parts are painted black, showing off a beautiful shiny lacquered finish that remains in great condition. The lacquer is finely preserved and only show some very slight signs of wear that provide these antique binoculars with charm and personality. Perfect as a decorative item and fully original from the time, these gorgeous antique binoculars will stand out in an elegant showcase or a complete collection. Measurements: 4.53-3.15 in / 11-8 cm.
