Nostalgic antique binoculars made in the early 20th century, in excellent working order and with their original storing case. The binoculars were made for military used and come from France, being dated circa 1914. For the manufacturing date and their use, we can assume that they were used in World War I. At the top of the casing, one of the eyepieces bears this engraved inscription: Jumelle Militaire Superieure (Superior Military Binocular). The other eyepiece shows the inscription Duval Ainé Opticien Annecy, the name of the optic material manufacturer and the city where the binoculars were made. The lenses show some tiny dust particles, but they do not interfere in the clear and neat vision provided by this article. The original storing case is made of brown leather; it is quite worn out by the trace of time and the use; the side seam is open and the handle is torn. Nevertheless, it has protected the binoculars for decades and is still the perfect companion for this marvelous piece. Every lover of war antiques and turn-of-the-century optical instruments will appreciate the charm and authenticity of these antique military binoculars. Measurements: Width: 4.52 in.
