Stylish and antique gentlemens opera lorgnette or binoculars, dated in the 19th century and in really good condition. The item is more than one hundred years old, but nevertheless it still works fine and enables a clear and neat vision of the stage. The lorgnette shows a very attractive design that combines golden and black-enameled brass, real leather and black bakelite. All the finishes are in good condition: the black enamel shows scarcely any signs of wear, while the golden metal looks even and shows no traces of rust. The dark-brown-dyed leather is decorated with an engraved diamond pattern and is also greatly preserved. The lenses contain some tiny dust particles which are not an obstacle to use the lorgnette, as some elegant gentleman surely did more than a century ago.
