Amazing antique campaign compass used by the French Army during World War I. This is an original tool made between 1914 and 1918 and remaining in wonderful condition. The compass works perfectly and can be used today just like when it was made, one hundred years ago. As we can see in the images, this piece is composed of a square-shaped solid-mahogany wooden box with a compass embedded inside. The boxs corners are slightly rounded and it preserves the original brass shutting hooks and hinges. Outside the box is even and shows no decoration at all; the wood is greatly preserved and the original satin finish has been restored to regain its antique splendor. If we lift the wooden lid, inside we will find the silvery-metal compass with black inscriptions and golden metallic hands. The compasss face contains an engraved inscription reading RADIO MIL RE. The glass pane that covers the compass is the original one and remains in perfect condition. Every lover of special war antiques will appreciate this nostalgic and antique compass used by the French Army, an original piece in amazing condition. Measurements: Width: 2.95 in / 7.5 cm. Depth: 3 in / 7.7 cm.
