Striking antique P. Berville brass camera lucida, complete and coming from France. This curious drawing tool was made circa 1900 and remains in excellent aesthetical condition and great working order. The brass it is made of preserves the original transparent lacquered finish that protects the metal from wear and provides it with a fine and warm patina. The clamp used to attach the camera lucida to the drawing table or board bears the manufacturers name and address, P. BERVILLE, engraved in the metal surface. We can also see this name in the golden decal printed on the green-satin lining that covers the inside of the storing case, as well as in the inscription printed on the small cloth for cleaning the lenses. The camera lucida comes with a complete set of original lenses, in good condition and essential for its use. The storing case is a stylish solid-oak wooden box with fine dovetail joints and in amazing condition.
