Antique Optician's Lens Case. France, 1950s

Amazing optical lens kit made in France in the 1950s, in great condition and entirely original from the time. The lens kit is complete except for two color filters. Both the gorgeous wooden case and the lens kit remain in excellent condition, preserving the great beauty inherent to ancient professional instruments. These kits were used to test the patients eyes; in order to do so, every pair of glasses bear a metal tab with their corresponding magnification number. The glasses frames are made of brass and silvery metal and remain in good condition, just like the lenses. The lenses are classified into different types (cylindrical and spherical, concave and convex, etc.) and stored in separated compartments with their corresponding identification plates. The storing case is made of light-colored solid wood and bears dovetail joints. It is finely preserved too. Inside the lid is covered of mauve-colored moiré satin in amazing condition.
