Antique stereoscopic viewer for 17.5 x 8.5 cm plates, in good condition and dated circa 1900. This fine device is in amazing condition and fine working order, making it possible to view clearly cardboard and glass plates. The lenses are finely preserved and the same can be said about the wooden casing. Except for the part with the eyepieces (a solid-oak wooden plank), the viewer is entirely made of burl mahogany wood. The gorgeous and complicated veneer of this type of wood, together with its profound reddish color, provide the viewer with a sumptuous and stately look. The wood preserves the original French-polish finish, warm and glossy, that protects its surface and enhances its good appearance. The metal eyepieces are also in good condition and show no traces of rust, wear or scratches. The front part of the viewer preserves the original smoked-glass plate. This antique stereoscopic viewer for 17.5 x 8.5 cm plates is a charming and evocative piece, original from the early 20th century. Measurements: Eyepieces Diameter: 2.48 in / 6.3 cm.
