Here is a scientific tool which is highly valued by scientific oddities collectors, we deal here with an antique keratometer, which belonged to the Collection of the United Kingdom school of Optmetrists, It was made by the Pfister and Streit factory, located in Bern, Switzerland, made in 1906 after the classic model by Javal and Sritz from 1881.A keratometer is used in order to measure the radius of curvature in the surface of the cornea. This one we offer is extraordinarily well kept, we should pay attention to the immaculate condition of the wood and its shining varnish, the Black lacquer on its metallic parts shows signs of having been used, but this doesnt blemish the good visual aspect of the piece, neither its good optic and mechanic conditions. Only the wiring structure that connects the on/off switch to the lamp socket has been removed, but it can be easily replaced. The optics is superb, and completely ready to work. This piece could serve both as a wonderful collectors item and as a professional working tool.
