This curious article is a small optical trial lens set made in the 1940s-50 and coming from Germany. The set keeps all the lenses with different diopters and coming in pairs. The lenses and the metal frame used to try them are stored in a beautiful and sober black case, with the inside covered by red satin and velvet that is in excellent condition, with bright lively color and with no flaws or worn parts. The case has several compartments in order to store safely the delicate lenses. When open, inside the case we can see the lenses perfectly classified by two golden metal plates. In one of them we can read the embossed word CONCAV, and in the other, the term CONVEX. It is an excellent way to classify the lenses and keep them in order allowing no mistakes. We can also see two series of golden numbers (one for concave lenses and the other for convex lenses) that indicate the diopters of each pair of lenses. The numbers are consecutive and range from 0.5 to eight. There is also a compartment with two more lenses classified with numbers 10 and 16, and a bigger one designed to store the metal frame. The lenses have the name of their corresponding diopters engraved in the glass in order to avoid mistakes. On the other hand, outside the case is covered by sober black faux-leather, equally in great condition. The lock is made of nice golden metal and provides the set with a shiny and luxurious touch. This wonderful and delicate optical trial lens set will undoubtedly shine in a showcase containing the most original scientific pieces, providing character and distinction to any self-respecting collection.Measurements: Width: 100 mm.
