Antique gala sash which belonged to Infantry General Manuel Manso Rozas, made in 1919 and with engraved silver plate. General Manso Rozas was part of the 53th Infantry Regiment of the army of the Spanish king Alphonse 13th, as stated in the dedication engraved in the silver plate which can be seen in the cases lid. The dedication tells us that the sash was a present to the General for being promoted from Colonel. The sash is made of weaved red silk and has gold-embroidered tassels. At each end we can see a red silk band with the embroidered gray leaves of the official uniform. The case is in fine condition: the inner lining, made of white satin, shows the name and address of the royal supplier who made the garment in embroidered gold letters. Into the case we find a handwritten card signed by the Infantry Chief General of Navarra, don Vicente Abreu Madariaga, with this inscription: Muy agradecido y honrado de ser la faja del General Manso la primera ceñida en el generalato (Very grateful and honored for being the sash of General Manso the first upwind leg in the generalship). The envelope containing the card bears a handwritten sentence too: Tres hijos del General Manso (Three sons of General Manso). Complete, stylish and truly original, this antique gala sash which belonged to Infantry General Manuel Manso Rozas is a historic piece, worthy to belong to a museum of militaria.
