This curious and complex utensil is a miter saw designed to cut wooden planks in different angles. It is a hacksaw that has been adapted to a stand that lets the user perform 45 degree and bevel cuts without making mistakes or getting tired. The saw is fixed to a system of guides that let it move forward or backward, but prevent it to move from side to side. This is a very antique carpentry tool and was manufactured circa 1900. It is in good condition and keeps all its original components, making up a very attractive piece. The hacksaw is made of iron and with the trace of time it has acquired an attractive dark patina that fills it with charm. The solid wooden handle is the original one. The hacksaws design is very attractive, with solid and strong parts such as the serrated blade or the middle axe, and more delicate elements such as the top guide. Though this device is in good condition, currently the hacksaw remains still and cannot be moved. Nevertheless the tool is an appealing piece, with a powerful decorative look, that will stand out in any atelier or collection. This tools base is made up of two solid wooden pieces. The base itself is a wooden plank, a thick piece that provides the device with stability and at whose ends are screwed two iron legs on which the upper part stands. This upper part is composed of two angle-disposed planks and is the place where the wooden pieces are cut. Under it we can see a rotary device that holds the hacksaw and lets the user move it, in order to saw in the desired angle; the saw can be fixed in every position. This curious miter saw is an exceptional piece that any lover of vintage tools will surely appreciate.Measurements: Width: 590 mm.
