These two vintage and charming articles are two kitchen grinders made in Germany in the early 20th century. Being more than one hundred years old, they have survived to our days in good working order: as well as boasting a great decorative interest, they are also functional items. The set is composed of a coffee grinder and a spice grinder (usually for grinding pepper) whose rustic look turn them into the best pieces to decorate a vintage kitchen or to shine in a showcase with antique domestic utensils. The coffee grinder is rectangular in shape and is made of wood and enameled metal sheet. It shows off the classic design of vintage grinders: a box with a drawer at the bottom and a top crank that moves the inside blades. It is very easy to use; the user only must open the silvery metal dome at the top and fill the box with coffee beans. When operating the crank, the blades will move and grind the beans so the grinded coffee will fall into the small drawer. This grinder is painted in a fine turquoise enameled finish, and at its front side we can see the German word LENBROCK. The other sides of the article are also decorated with simple embossed moldings. The cranks handle is made of wood, just like the inner pannels of the box and the drawer. The metal sheet that cover these panels is in good condition though the enameled finished is slightly distressed here and there. Nevertheless, this grinder preserves most of its bright and deep blue finish. On the other hand, the spice grinder is cylindrical and long, and is composed of four detachable elements. They are all made of metal. The original golden varnish that covered the pieces can still be seen in some parts, such as the cranks knob. The pieces can be easily assembled and the grinder still works efficiently. These grinders for coffee and spice are two original pieces, full of charm and with a long life on his back. They will be the perfect gift for those who love cooking and antiques.Measurements: Coffee grinder: Width: 160 mm (with crank). Height: 100 mm. Spice grinder: Width: 150 mm (with crank).
