The piece we can see in these images is a big vintage kitchen scale that comes from Germany and was made in the early 20th century (circa 1900). It is a highly decorative item that shows off a nice manufacture, solid and robust. The scale works perfectly and is in good condition, being able to weigh food as precisely as when it was originally made. It is a big piece that can weigh up to ten kilos of products, something that turns it into a very functional and aesthetically interesting article. The scale has a big round white-enameled face that occupies a good part of its structure. The face bears a graduate scale with the numbers and lines painted in golden ochre color. The kilos are marked in big Arab numbers and between them we can see the numbers 250, 500 and 750 standing for quarters and halves in grams. The face is in good condition and shows only some small trace of rust around the needle and the two screws that connect it to the structure. The left screw also lets the user adjust the needle in order to get the most accurate weight. The face bears the inscription Wirtschafts-Waage (domestic scale in German) printed in an elegant golden ochre lettering. The scales body is made of iron and is composed of a cylinder that hides the mechanism, fixed to the decorative front frame that embellishes this piece so much. The frame surrounds the face and is decorated with embossed motives in the shape of attractive volutes and symmetrical designs. All the piece stands on the two legs that are part of the front frame and the rear leg that supports the cylinder. At the top we can see the mobile platform that holds the plate designed to contain the products. This platform is also fully engraved and perforated. This wonderful vintage scale is bound to be part of a good collection of domestic antiques, being worthy of the most special kitchen.Measurements: Width: 300 mm.
