Complete Set of Gilt Brass Weights on Wooden Base. Spain, 1930's

Big weigh set composed of several pieces of different weighs and sizes, made of golden brass. The set was made in Spain in the 1930s. The weighs are organized in a solid mahogany wooden base, extremely beautiful and in very good condition. They rank from the biggest one (500g) to the smallest piece (only 1g). The set is accompanied by a group of metal micro-weighs that rank from 500mg to 10mg, stored in a small compartment located at one side of the wooden base. They are wrapped in a small paper with a printed inscription: REDUCCIÓN GRAMO AL CENTIGRAMO (reduction gram to centigram in Spanish. The group is composed of seven metal pieces, the bigger one weighing 500mg and the smaller 10mg. The heaviest weigh (500gr) bears an engraved inscription with the manufacturers name: J. COBOS BARCELONA, a manufacturer of precision scales and accessories founded in 1908 that is still active. As delicate as functional, this weigh set will be the perfect accessory for an antique precision scale. Measurements: Width: 6.2 in/16 cm. Height: 1.7 in/4.5 cm.
