This amazing piece is a conductors baton made of ebony wood and solid silver with hallmarks. The baton comes from France and was made in the late 19th century. It comes in its original case and is in magnificent condition; it seems as if the trace of time had not affected it at all. This piece is quite beautiful and antique, and is bound to become part of a great collection of music-related antiques. Moreover, it is detachable and can be separated in two pieces in order to put it into the case. The baton consists of two stylized ebony wood pieces, softly turned to create a fine item. One of the pieces has a thicker end trimmed by a solid silver element. The silver is decorated with two delicate interwoven fringes engraved in the metal. At the top we can see a small silver ball that crowns the baton. The central piece that acts as a link between the batons two parts is decorated with similar fringes. At the slimmest end of the baton we can see another silver piece trimmed by a similar silver ball. The fringes engraved in this piece are different from the others: they are composed of small flowers. All the silver pieces bear hallmarks that testify for the quality and origin of the metal. The case where the baton can be stored is made of black-leather-covered wood with red velvet lining inside. It is well preserved and is the perfect accessory for this lovely antique piece. As fine as delicate, this wonderful baton is a stylish article that will delight every lover of music and antiques. Measurements: 14.61 in / 38 cm Length.
