This lovely piece is a French porcelain posy holder, very antique and impressively elegant. It is a fine item that was made in France in the 19th century. In spite of being more than one hundred years old, the bouquet holder is in excellent condition. The top of the article, designed to contain the bouquet that the lady-owner would wear, is made of enameled golden brass. The brass shows an engraved decoration depicting a flowery garland and there are still some remains of the original colorful enameled finish that embellished the decoration. At the back, a slim needle with a chain serves to pin the posyto the holder. At the top of this piece there is also an ancient oval mirror designed to reflect the light and lets the owner look at herself if needed. This mirror is the original one and its reflecting surface is slightly distressed, a feature that provides the bouquet holder with a very special charm. Over the mirror, the brass is engraved in the shape of a ribbon with a central ring. The back of the piece, also made of brass, makes up a delicate filigree design. The bottom part of this article is a fine porcelain handle with a colorful decoration, inspired in the classic Limoghes porcelain. It is white and bears deep blue fringes at the top and the bottom. In the middle, over the white background there is a wonderful hand-painted floral motive, an extremely delicate detail. At the bottom the bouquet holder has a brass detail that protects the porcelain and crowns the pieces great look.
