Gorgeous French game box in impressive condition, very antique and with original gambling chips. The box dates from the 19th century and it has inside partitions to organize the gambling accessories. Thanks to its functional design, this piece could also be used as a jewel box or a boudoir chest. This piece is made of solid wood and is outside covered with blur veneer, in stunning condition and impressively beautiful. The small planks that separate the inner compartments are also made of wood, just like the small removable boxes designed to organize the game accessories. The boxs cover has an elegant decoration and is very well preserved. It boasts a combination of different woods and materials in the shape of marquetry and inlaid details that create a stylish piece. The background is made of blur veneer, similar to the side panels; this material is framed by a dark wood zone and a beautiful marquetry fringe. In the center we can see a lovely marquetry detail made of mother-of-pearl, brass, reddish wood and ebony. All the marquetry pieces are the original ones and look as fine as when this piece was manufactured. As stated before, the rest of the box is outside covered by blur veneer in very good condition. The box bears a great French-polish finish, with the wonderful glow that characterizes this lacquer.
