This curious piece is a machine designed to fill empty cigarettes, made of black bakelite and wood and in good condition. The bakelite deposit shows a slight crack at the top, but this flaw scarcely interferes in the aesthetics and the functionality of the machine. Otherwise the item is in well preserved and can be used just like when it was originally made. It boasts a simple and highly practical design that turns it into a great piece for a showcase with ancient and rare machines or to be shown on a decorative shelf. The machine stands on a solid beech wooden base, circular in shape and with milled edge. The wood bears a reddish glossy finish, quite good-looking and in excellent condition. This wooden base is solid and compact and remains well preserved. The machines body stands on top of it: a black bakelite deposit with a stylized inverted conical shape and a metallic gear system attached to one side. At the other side we can see the hollow cylindrical tube where the empty cigarette must be inserted. The metallic mechanism is well preserved, with no traces of rust and with the original black crank designed to operate it. The machine works in a simple and ingenious way: the user must insert and empty paper cigarette in the metal tube and pour the tobacco into the deposit through the top opening. After turning the crank, the tobacco gets cut and shrunk and is transferred to the paper cylinder, filling it rapidly and neatly. As original as attractive, this antique cigarette filling machine is a real find for all the lovers of special pieces. Measurements: Width: 6.2 in / 16 cm. Height: 6.2 in / 16 cm.
