Stunning ship lamp with paraffin or petrol burner, made of golden brass and with glass bell jar. This lamp was made in Germany in the 1920s - 1930s and is a big-sized piece, perfect to be turned into a ceiling lamp. In order to do that, the owner only has to install a screwed base and a wire. The lamp is composed of different pieces: the fuel deposit with the burner, the glass bell jar and the top shade. A copper piece crowns the whole lot. All this component parts are original and remain in good condition. The wick raiser knob is painted black and shows an inscription in golden lettering: IDEAL BRENNER 20. This is the burners model, designed and made (just like the rest of the lamp) by the Lampen-Fabrik Ehrich & Graetz OHG, a metal works and lamps factory founded in Berlin in 1866. The business started out making kerosene lamps, burners and cookers. The company succeeded and opened establishments in the USA, France, UK and India. In the 1920s the firm also started manufacturing radios and other electrical devices. The lamp that we can see in these photographs is a good sample of their quality and attractive products. It can be divided in two parts: the lamp itself and the metal protecting case. This case is composed of a brass chimney and a concave shade with four curved brass bars designed to protect the glass bell jar. These bars are attached to a bottom brass ring. As for the lamp, it is composed of a burner with oil deposit and a blown-glass bell jar with domed lower part.Any lover of ship antiques will find an amazing piece in this lamp, perfect to be shown off in the ceiling of a living room or a study.Measurements: Width: 30 cm.
