Beautiful Art Deco Mantel Lamp in Good Condition. 20th Century, 1920's-30's

Lovely desktop lamp made of chrome-plated metal and with smoked glass shade. This is a collectors piece, an art-deco design made in the 1920s-30s. The lamp draws our attention for its nice design, fully contemporary and boasting an industrial-style beauty that matches perfectly with the current decorative trends. It has a circular base with a high and stylized stem, cylindrical in shape and with the shade and the light at the top. The charming antique-style wiring is completely new and guarantees a safe and perfect operation. The artistic and decorative style that shows this lamp is called art deco. This movement started out in 1920 and it is thought to have finished around 1939, though in some countries its influence kept on until the 1950s. In fact, todays design is clearly influenced by this style too. The art deco movement reached its top in the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts that took place in Paris in 1925. Its aesthetic is mainly inspired by the artistic vanguards, especially cubism, futurism, constructivism and Bauhaus. The lamp that we can see in the photographs is in amazing condition. The chrome-plated metal its different parts are made of looks great and reflects the light as it was alive. The smoked-glass panes of the shade are also original from the period.
