This curious article is a manually-operated machine, formerly used in shoe repair shops and textile workshops to put snap-buttons and eyelets, possibly for leather. The machine was made in the early 20th century and boasts a lovely design, with a fine cast-iron body shaped as a sitting lion. Under the lion there is an iron base with two drilled holes for screwing the machine to the worktable. On top of the animals head there is a golden brass crank with wooden knob: when turned, the point that comes out of the lions mouth is lowered and enters the piece located just under it. If we put a snap button and a fabric between these pieces, the pressure exerted by the point will join them securely. It is in really good condition and is a very special item. All the lovers of trades-related antiques will appreciate the beauty and functionality of this gorgeous machine. Measurements: Total Width: 14 cm. Cranks Width: 7 cm. Height: 14 cm.
