Stunning carpentry tools set, antique and in quite good condition. The set is a complete collection composed of different tools, made of wood and metal and boasting the fine patina that time and use deliver on authentic ancient pieces. The collection dates from the early 20th century (circa 1920) and probably once belonged to a good carpenter or cabinetmaker that took good care of its tools. The set is composed of 35 original tools: three saws of different sizes and types, a striking set of hand planes, a set of chisels and gouges (woodcarving tools), a drilling template, a square bracket, two hand drills, a drill-bit set in a wooden case, a drift punch, pliers, tongs and a wooden clamp. They make up a classic carpentry-tool set and though they are quite old, they can still fulfill the duty they were designed for. The hand-plane set, composed of 11 units, is quite remarkable for its great beauty and good condition. They are all made of solid beech wood, in some cases with lovely veneer. Some of them show paint stains and signs of use, details that increase their personality and authenticity. As stated before, the tool set comes in its original wooden chest: it is made of solid wood planks and bars, and painted with brownish-grey paint on white primer. Every collector of traditional-trades-related antiques will discover a beautiful and interesting piece in this antique tool set. Measurements (Box): Width: 25.1 in / 64 cm. Height: 19.6 in / 50 cm.
