Spectacular Napoleon III Style Cigar Box, manufactured in the 2nd half of the 19th century. It consists of a beautiful box in oak wood decorated with bronze inlays depicting different hunting themes. When closed, it is a very decorative box with a curved front profile, and different bronze elements with hunting representations on all sides, including the back. Both the base and the upper and front corners are decorated with a continuous frieze with vegetal decoration based on vine leaves, topped at the corners by representations of female faces in Greek style, with a border of beautifully made scrolls and brackets. In the upper part there is an original large central medallion with hunting dogs intertwined in undulating vines. This type of decoration is repeated on the front, with different animals such as a fox, a bird, two lions guarding the keyhole, and even a snake. On the side faces there is a hunting trophy surrounded by different hunting tools, and on the back a hunting scene represented by a wild boar attacked by a group of dogs. Through a double opening, top lid and front lid, you can access the five horizontal trays with slits to place the different cigars. These slits have a longitudinal opening for the air to flow and the humidity level that the cigars need is optimal for their preservation. A very original gift for a hunting lover, who also likes good cigars. Measures: 18 x 28 cm (closed).
