Valuable high-quality antique violin made in 1706 by prestigious Tyrol master Matthias Albanus (1621-1712). This violin-maker reached the age of 91 and during his long life made many quality violins, very sought-after by the best violinists and professionals nowadays. Albanuss technique evolved greatly during his life and this particular violin is one of his most developed models. Among the renowned violinist who have owned and played an instrument made by Albanus we can quote Arcangelo Corelli, Andrea Amati, José Vázquez, Christa Opreissnig and Wang-Yu Ko.This particular instrument comes into a modern case that was probably made in the early 20th century. The violin is made of dark wood and keeps its warm deep original finish. Through the f-holes we can see the inner label, signed by the master with the Latin sentence that he used to write in all his instruments: MATTHIAS Albanus Me Fecit and also Tyroli 1706. This detail increases considerable the violins interest and value, turning it into a real museum piece. The instrument is in good condition if we consider its ancient age thought it could benefit from a professional restoration in order to show off its aesthetical and musical potential. The case where the violin was stored, and that was made hundreds of years later in order to keep the valuable instrument in good condition, is well preserved and is perfect to house this piece. Together with the violin comes an arch which is undoubtedly more modern. The outside of the case is black and it keeps the original handle, shutting pieces and lock. Inside it is covered of green felt. Outside the case is somewhat worn, but nevertheless this piece is very charming and is still the best place to store the instrument. Surely this violin is the ideal piece for the best virtuoso who will make it shine with his or her performance just like when it was made, more than three hundred years ago.
