Bone fan illuminated by hand on both sides, XIX century. Fan with rods made of bone with marked openwork shapes decorated with metal inlays. It consists of 20 rods of undulating profile and beautiful workmanship, decorated with vegetable and floral forms in metal that make them very beautiful aesthetically. The nail or vitrola, made of mother-of-pearl, is shaped like a small spherical button and is attached to a smooth metal ring. The country of a fan is conceived to be striking, looking for effects of virtuosity, luxury and color. The pictorial compositions in this type of pieces are made to be contemplated both statically and in movement, hence the precision of the details is often subordinated, giving priority to the sensation of the whole. The country of this fan is made of paper and appears decorated on both sides. The front side is decorated with a floral lattice, gilded with roses and other flowers, in pink and mauve tones. A court scene of a lively ball is presented. A group of ladies and gentlemen dancing in an idyllic landscape with a house in the background. The reverse of the fan is decorated with a landscape in several very well defined planes, with a couple with their backs to the foreground, looking at a lake where boats are sailing. An imposing French-style castle stands out in the background. This fantastic fan is in good condition, although it has a broken rod as you can see in the photographs.Nice fan to surprise a real lady with.Measures: 26,5 x 51 cm
