Fine and antique Bohemian crystal cup, made in two-color crystal (amber and transparent) and which is in perfect condition. The glass is delicately hand-cut, following the characteristic and inimitable style of Central European artisans. Also, the cup has an elegant cover over it which turns it into the perfect place to keep small objects, sweets, etc. The crystal is amber color, and the cut and engraved parts appear in transparent glass. The central part of the cup is cut and engraved with a rose pattern, which interlace their leaves and stems making an elegant garland. The upper part and other places show geometrical designs, and in the base we can see a curious pattern with circles. The delicate hand cut of the cup is typical of Bohemian crystal style, which became famous for its excellent cut and engraving. This craft, which started in Central Europe en the 13th century and reached its top in the 17th century, is characterized by the great transparency of the glass, similar to rock crystal, and by the deep cut whose perfection has not ever been matched by any glazier anywhere. This nice cup is a magnificent example of Bohemian glasswares beauty, and so it deserves a special place in the best collection of selected antiques. Cup measurements: 150 mm width x 230 mm high.
