This lovely medicine cabinet is made of hardwood. It is an antique piece from the 19th century, which combines its old age with its aesthetic beauty and delicate execution. The cabinet is in perfect condition, both the wood and the varnish, and it retains the original lock and key. The wood is wonderfully carved with a nice motive on the door and some slim details on the sides. The carving on the door shows an allegory of pharmacy, represented by a woman in classical Greek clothes and who holds a cup (symbol of pharmacy) and a jug. Just over the figure we can read the word APOTHEKE; which means pharmacy in Greek. The woman is located into an oval and is surrounded by diamond-shaped motive. The door is not of a perfect rectangular shape, but it is surrounded by some classical volutes. It also has an ornamental top with volutes and a central C-shaped design with a flower. The inside has separate compartments: there are three spaces detached by horizontal wooden shelves. The down part has also its own compartments with small drawers. There are three drawers: one big and two small ones, with the same carving that appears on the sides of the cabinet. They show the same reddish color and varnish, and they have small rounded metal knobs, probably made of brass. Overall, this antique and lovely medicine cabinet is the ideal piece for the smartest bathrooms o just to decorate the most special room. Also, is the perfect acquisition for any collection of antique pharmacy items. Cabinet measurements: 345 mm width x 540 mm height.
