Attractive pair of polished brass candlesticks, dating from 1900. They probably come from France or Germany, and are a really beautiful and delicate antique. Their excellent condition is very remarkable: the brass is polished and shiny, with no broken, dented or pitted parts. All their components are original, from the base to the candle holders, the joints and the stems. These candlesticks are decorated with lovely vegetal motives, making up two real floral sculptures full of movement and charm. The design is based on fig leaves and grapes. The base is actually formed by three legs in the shape of fig leaves, which supports the short stem from which the central and side arms emerge. The upper arm, which holds the highest candle, is decorated with a beautiful central flower which is the main aesthetical detail of the candlesticks. The thorough attention to detail that show these flowers is great, and we can even see the delicate metal stamens and pistils. Under each flower we can see a small bunch of grapes, supported by a slim stem. Both bunches reflect the light on the fruits polished surface, and there are one more attractive detail. In spite of their size, these candlesticks look very light because the delicacy of their parts and their slim stems and arms. They are two exclusive vintage pieces, intended to adorn any big celebrations dinner or a beautiful corner or mantelpiece in the most aristocratic room. Medidas: 230 mm ancho x 310 mm alto.
