This wonderful piece of furniture is an antique Arab cabinet made in the early 20th century (circa 1920). The piece shows off an impressive design, being also in great condition. The cabinet is amazingly preserved; there is only a small crack at the top left corner of the lid. In spite of this small flaw, the piece keeps all its original attractive and essence. The cabinet is fully decorated with hand-made marquetry compositions, both outside and inside. The marquetry is made up by small pieces made of ebony, blurr-wood, light and dark wood and bone. The pieces are wisely combined in order to create Arab-style ornamental motives, as complicated as elegant. If we open the front doors we will see the amazing inside design, with side arches and top railing which remind us of a sumptuous Arab manor. Between the two symmetrical arches there are four small drawers with blue-dyed wooden pieces in the marquetry. The lid is a very special part. In the center and as part of the marquetry there is an Arab inscriptions that means The most powerful, Allah. If we lift the lid, inside we will find a central mirror with a lovely hand-engraved wooden frame. This mirror suggests that the cabinet was designed as a dresser or a jewel box; today it is still the perfect piece to fulfill this task. The whole piece of furniture has been embellished and protected with an artisanal French-polish finish whose fine satin glow enhances the beauty of the different materials. For its spectacular hand-made decoration and its balanced beauty, this outstanding antique Arab cabinet will shine in any room. Measurements: Open: Width: 31.4 in / 80 cm. Height: 21.2 in / 40 cm.
