Gorgeous antique kitchen scale with the fine charm of early-20th-century utensils and in really good condition. The scale was made in England by the ancient scale manufacturing company Salter. The firm was founded by Richard Salter in the late 1760s and has survived to our days under different names, always as a familiar business. Today the company is still active under the Salter Housewares name. The scale is made of black-lacquered cast iron; the shiny finish remains in wonderful condition, as if the trace of time had not affected it. The lovely brass bowl makes a nice contrast with the dark finish and makes it possible to weigh ingredients in order to prepare recipes. The scale bears an oval decal with the following inscription: THE SALTER STAFFORDSHIRE. It comes with its original brass weigh set, complete and with its own iron support. Its precision and beauty turn this antique Salter scale into the perfect decorative piece for the most stylish kitchen. Measurements: Width: 11 in / 28 cm. Height: 7.4 in / 19 cm.
