Striking cast-iron safe in very good condition and working lock. This item comes from England and was made in the 19th century; it is very well preserved in spite of being more than one hundred years old. The metal surface shows some signs of the trace of time; these signs provide the piece with authenticity and presence, but otherwise the safe could be easily restored by a professional in order to regain its original look. This is a medieval-style piece with reinforced corners and studs that strengthen and decorate its design. Inside the safe is covered with a fine ochre and green lining in good condition. The front side is adorned with a fine silvery-metal detail depicting a central shield held by a lion and a unicorn. These beasts are usually depicted holding the United Kingdom shield. Under them we can read the British monarchy motto: Dieu et Mon Droit (God and my right), as well as an engraved inscription about the patent of the lock system. This imposing safe can still be used to keep valuable items and money safe being also an original piece with a remarkable personality. Measurements: Width: 12.6 in / 32 cm. Height: 7 in / 18 cm.
