Attractive antique horn with engraved-brass foot or stand, made circa 1930 and in very good condition. This original piece shows a great decorative potential for its ancient look and its quality making. The horn is a natural piece which once belonged to an animal; it is quite remarkable for its curved shape and delicate changes of color. The wider end (the horns base) shows a fine light pinkish-ochre color with delicate white strokes; the color gets darker and darker until becoming almost black. At the pointed end, it becomes pink again. The horn is mounted on an elegant brass foot designed to make the item more visible and easy to exhibit. It mounts a conical four-legged base with an engraved decorative fringe. Over the base, the stem holds the top ring which holds the horn. The horns base is covered by an embossed-brass lid. The item is hollow. Imposing and original, this antique horn with brass foot is the perfect article to create a focal point in a special dining room or study. Measurements: Height: 17.7 in / 45 cm.
