Antique Snuff Box. Solid 18K gold. Italy, Circa 1850

Astonishing antique 18K solid-gold snuff box, coming from Italy and made circa 1850. This gorgeous piece, as delicate as valuable, remains in excellent condition; this makes it possible to appreciate all its details. The box is rectangular in shape; outside it is entirely decorated with hand-engraved diamonds, flowers and volutes. The lid has an embedded porcelain plate with a portrait of a nobleman, wonderfully performed and with a rich color display. The portrait shows a young man with clear blue eyes and quiet expression, wearing rich clothes. The porcelain is in very good condition and shows no hairlines or dents. If we open the box, stuck to the lids inner side there is a polished solid-gold plate that acts as a mirror. Though there are no visible hallmarks, the metal has been tested and we can guarantee that the box is made of 18K solid gold. This feature provides the box with a remarkable material value, which together with its ancient age and great manufacture makes up an outstanding piece.
