Amazing antique French liquor cabinet with hand-carved glassware, complete and with the original key. The cabinet was made circa 1900 and remains in great condition, being a functional and decorative item. This small piece of furniture, made of burl-veneer-covered solid wood, contains a complete set of hand-carved crystal bottles and cups. The set is complete; three of the cups are not from the same set, but are practically identical to the rest. They are all strikingly preserved. The liquor cabinet is completely covered with mahogany-burl veneer, a fine wood that creates playful shapes while preserving its warm reddish color. At the lid we can see a big handmade marquetry detail, a symmetrical motif of Pompeian style which combines different materials: ebony wood, bone and brass. The marquetry is framed by two parallel lines made of the same materials which create a lovely effect. At the bottom of the cabinets front side we can see these lines again. The cabinets sides, back and front doors are covered by burl veneer too and bear fine reddish-wood frames with slim parallel lines. The whole piece of furniture is protected by the original French-polish finish in quite good condition. Inside the liquor cabinet bears a dark-mahogany covering which makes up a dark background, perfect for the crystal set to shine. The set is composed of sixteen cups and four bottles with lid. They are all made of first-class crystal, decorated with hand-carved country scenes: mills, birds, flowers The glassware can be safely stored thanks to the original lock and key set, both in perfect working order.
