Magnificent 19th Century French Liquor Cabinet in Original Crystal with Wooden Box with Marquetry in Lemongrass. It consists of a precious glassware formed by 4 bottles, one of which is broken at the neck, and 16 pressed crystal glasses of elegant workmanship. The four bottles are of an original quadrangular shape topped by a beautiful faceted disc-shaped stopper. The set is perfectly distributed, the four bottles together in the central part, and the small glasses on the sides, located at different levels. The box that protects the glassware is made of wood with geometric lemongrass applications on the sides. The box has a total opening, both on the sides and on the top lid, which facilitates the extraction of the set. The closed box is very beautiful, since in addition to the lemongrass decorations, a precious vegetal decoration in fire enamel and brass stands out on the top. In the center there is an unengraved vegetal shield. The liquor bottles are typical objects of the antique XVIII-XIX century, being the oldest ones of bulky and long body, finished off in a narrow neck with caps of the most diverse forms. Like the rest of the decorative arts, the style and designs depended on the fashion of the time. It was in the liquor bottles where the most experimentation with designs took place, which is why they are more colorful than the bottles made for wine. For anyone who appreciates this kind of pieces, it is a real pity that one of the bottles is broken, which is undoubtedly reflected in the price. A most exquisite piece, perfect for decorating any room. Measures: 32 x 24 x 25 cm
