Rare antique humidor with cigar cutter and curious lock, coming from France and dated in the early 20th century. This singular piece stands out for its gorgeous look, amazing condition and rare mechanism. The opening system is really interesting: once you turn the key in the top lock, you just have to turn the cigar cutter in order to open the lids. When this element is parallel to the box, the humidor will be closed; if perpendicular, it will be open as it will let the lids be lifted. This piece is made of solid oak wood, with a fine light golden color and deep veneer. The wood is in fine condition, with no visible flaws or signs of wear. The box is reinforced in different points with brass plates and angles, fixed with solid rivets. The combination of the woods natural look and the shiny golden metal makes up a beautiful piece with a strong decorative power. At the same time, this humidor is also a functional item which makes it possible to preserve the cigars safely. The cigar cutter located at the top of the humidor is in excellent working order and fulfills perfectly its duty. It mounts a brass reinforcement piece with the hand-engraved patent number Rº Nº 223291/706, in cursive lettering. The key is original from the piece and has survived to our days from more than one hundred years. Last but not least, the wood preserves the original satin finish that provides it with a soft stylish glow, as well as protection. This antique humidor with cigar cutter and curious lock will shine on a classy table or sideboard, and will maintain cigars in the best conditions. Measurements: Width: 13.2 in / 33 cm.
